2012 Forum on Fishery Science and Technology will be held in Shanghai, China,mid-October, 2012.

Founded by Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) in 2003, Forum on Fishery Science and Technology has been held for 9 years. At present, fishery resources and environment have been seriously affected by fast development of urbanization, mass

industrial and living sewage, reclamation engineerings, hydroelectric projects,shipping channel regulation projects, oil spill accidents and over fishing. Therefore,how to scientifically carry out investigation and assessment of aquatic biological resources, conservation of fishery resources and ecosystem monitoring and evaluation has become a worldwide focus.

With the theme “Sustainable Utilization of Fishery Resources and Eco-environment Restoration”, 2012 Forum on Fishery Science and Technology will focus on the key fields as follows:

－evaluation and utilization of fishery resources

－fishery resources conservation

－fishery eco-environment restoration
