The major areas of research include stock assessment and fishery biology, population dynamics and recruitment mechanism, food web and ecosystem dynamics, stock enhancement and its ecological safety, healthy, sustainable utilization and management of Large Marine Ecosystem, as well as polar and high seas fishery in order to provide scientific bases for ecosystem based fisheries management and promotion of the healthy development of marine ecosystem and the sustainable utilization of marine living resources.
